About Your Guides and Packers

Albert Bayer is originally from northeastern Washington where he grew up fishing, camping and hunting. At eighteen, he went to work in the Wilderness of northwest Wyoming as professional guide and packer. Before buying his own backcountry outfitting business, he also worked in the Caribou National Forest of southeastern Idaho, and even returned to northeast Washington as a professional guide. He spent two seasons working in southeast Alaska along the Taiya River as well. Albert has made his living working in the remote areas of the West, where he feels most comfortable. In the spring of 2001, Albert had the opportunity to purchase an outfit in the Frank Church Wilderness of west central Idaho as well as an area of backcountry lakes In the Payette National Forest of Idaho. He has been riding, packing, fishing, and hunting this area ever since.

Shana Bond grew up in southwest Oregon in the Siskiyou Mountains where she spent her youth riding, showing and training horses. She earned a degree in Equine Sciences while continuing to work for several horse trainers and breeders. After college she worked for two years in southeast Alaska as a wrangler, before moving to west central Idaho where she continues to work as a trail guide, professional camp cook, and packer. She has truly found her calling in the backcountry.
